Biography
Physician
Dayne R. Jensen, M.D., D.M.D. was born and raised in Utah. As a scholar athlete, he received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, while playing football. He then received his first graduate degree in dentistry at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Dr. Jensen graduated Summa Cum Laude and received multiple awards during his time in dental school.
Dr. Jensen then began residency and obtained a medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, widely considered one of the finest residencies in the world in facial surgery. He completed a total of 5 years of residency in Oral/Maxillofacial and General surgery during this time in Omaha. After completion of residency, he elected to further his training and accepted a position as fellow in Cosmetic Surgery in Oklahoma City. In addition to his private practice responsibilities Dr. Jensen serves as a volunteer professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the department of surgery.
Father
In 2001, shortly after returning from a Mormon mission to the Amazon River Basin in Brazil, Dr. Jensen married Brooke Nelson the love of his life. They are perfect for one another. Dr. Jensen describes Brooke as a woman with equal inner and outer beauty. Recently in an interview Dr. Jensen said of Brooke, “It is only because of her and her love that I have the privilege of holding my two most cherished titles that of husband and father.”
Together Brooke and Dayne have three beautiful children. If you follow Dr. Jensen’s blog posts you will learn more about his relationship with each of them. Dr. Jensen is very candid and personal about the challenges and life lessons that he has learned through parenting. The Jensen’s are a non-traditional family with very traditional values.
Philanthropy
Philanthropy is defined as the desire to promote the welfare of others. Dr. Jensen has several organizations and causes that are near and dear to his heart. While in high school Dr. Jensen actively participated in the “Best Buddies” organization which served the special needs students in his area. He developed a love and admirations for these students and felt as if he could provide them a voice. He secured a large educational grant allowing their educational experience to be customized to their individual needs. This passion continued on into his college years where he served as the President of the Winter Special Olympics for his local chapter.
While serving in Northern Brazil as a Mormon Missionary Dr. Jensen came to understand true poverty. He found that even though these people had nothing they were kind and compassionate. His love for, and experiences amongst these beautiful people created a burning desire to always give back. Dr. Jensen views his opportunity to give back through charitable surgical work both locally and abroad. He embraces any opportunity to assist in bettering an individual’s life.
Through this website you will come to know the Jensen’s oldest child Molly. Molly was born with Cystic Fibrosis. She is an active and vibrant child loved by all who know her. She is the fuel for their fight against this nasty disease. They devote countless hours and manpower not only to make their daughter’s life better, but also the lives of others who fight this same battle. The Jensen’s love the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and love helping whenever and however they can.
